I helped put eight homes under contract and helped close nine transactions. Looking back at those nine closings, what stays with me is how much life was happening around each decision.
Each person had a specific story. A life event was helping move the decision along, and it had taken time to get to that point.
The transactions that went best were the ones where we had a clear understanding of the options and what would work for the people involved. That is the conversation I want to have with you if you are considering a move in Northeast Tennessee.
Start with what needs to change
When we sit down, I want to understand what is prompting the move and what you hope will be different afterward.
A useful place to start is your ordinary week. What would you want your next home or location to make easier? What part of your current situation is becoming harder to work around?
Those answers give us something concrete to plan around. They also help us decide which questions need attention first. You may be ready to look at homes, or you may still need to understand how the steps could fit together.
Describe your best case
I like to ask what the best case would look like for you. That means getting specific about the outcome you want and the timing you would prefer.
For example, if your move depends on another event happening first, we can identify that dependency early. If your timing has room to change, we can talk about where you have flexibility.
These are questions to explore together. Understanding your preferred outcome gives us a way to compare options when decisions come up.
Give Plan B some thought
Once we understand your preferred path, I want to talk through an alternative you could live with.
If the timing changes, what would you be willing to adjust? Which part of the move matters enough that you would rather wait than compromise?
An alternative needs to fit your circumstances. A solution that works for someone else may create a problem for you. Talking about that early helps me understand which options deserve a closer look.
Prepare for what would be difficult
I also want to know what would make the move especially difficult. Is there a deadline you cannot easily change? An unanswered question that is keeping you from deciding?
We can put those concerns on the table and work out what needs more information. That conversation helps us prepare, even though a plan cannot remove every uncertainty.
Across these nine transactions, the value of understanding the options kept coming through. Each person brought a different story, so the conversation had to begin with what mattered to them.
Find an advisor you can talk things through with
Choosing an agent is a chance to find someone whose approach works for you. I want you to feel comfortable explaining your priorities and asking the questions you have been carrying around.
That is where I can help: listening, asking follow-up questions and helping you think through the paths available.
